This office further proposes that the Continuous Calendar be applied retroactively to all imperial records for a period of five hundred years, with the retroactive dates assigned by the Office of Records and Correspondence based on cross-referencing of existing regional records.
This is a significant undertaking. This office estimates it will require a staff of forty scribes working for a period of no less than three years to complete. This office requests the allocation of said staff and the associated funding.
This office notes, for the Assembly's consideration, that the alternative is that the historical record of the Ur-Empire will remain partially uninterpretable for as long as the Empire exists, and that future scholars will curse whoever had the authority to fix the problem and chose not to.
