[\/b]Mandrakes usually stand tall and slim,\r\ntypically almost seven feet high, with spring\r\nmandrakes being smaller and winter mandrakes\r\nbeing slightly larger, and often hunched over.\r\n\r\n[b]Plant Nature. [\/b]Even though you are not fully a\r\nplant, you still possess many of the same traits as one.\r\nAs long as you are within direct sunlight for at least 4\r\nhours a day, you do not need to eat. Additionally, you\r\ncan breathe through your leaves and extremities, and\r\ncan absorb water and nutrients through your feet.\r\nEven if you aren\u2019t proficient in Stealth, you\r\ncan add your proficiency bonus to Dexterity\r\n(Stealth) checks that you make to hide in natural\r\nenvironments, such as forests.\r\n\r\n[b]Root Magic.[\/b] You know the shillelagh cantrip\r\nand can target yourself with the spell, treating one\r\nof your limbs as a club instead of an unarmed strike.\r\nWhen you reach 3rd level, you can cast the goodberry\r\nspell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so\r\nwhen you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level,\r\nyou can cast the barkskin spell once with this trait and\r\nregain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest.\r\nWisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.\r\n\r\n[h1]Seasonal Subrace.[\/h1]\r\nDepending on the season\r\nin which mandrakes are harvested, they take on\r\nvastly different characteristics when they mature.\r\nPick one seasonal subrace from Spring, Summer,\r\nAutumn, and Winter.\r\n\r\n[h2]Spring\u00a0[\/h2]\r\nMandrakes harvested in the spring are limber\r\nand flexible, bearing lighter bark and short\r\ngreen buds instead of leaves. They are by\r\nfar the thinnest and most agile of the\r\nmandrakes.\r\n\r\n[b]Ability Score Increase.[\/b] Your\r\nDexterity score increases by 1.\r\n\r\n[b]Sprightly Movement.[\/b] Your walking speed\r\nincreases by 5 feet.\r\n\r\n[b]Storm Resistance.[\/b] Accustomed to the\r\nthunderstorms of spring, you have resistance to\r\nlightning damage.\r\n\r\n[h2]Summer[\/h2]\r\nSummer mandrakes grow high and strong, as they\r\nare accustomed to the warm months and everabundant\r\nsunlight. Their leaves almost form a\r\ncanopy, and the roots along their feet can hold fast to\r\nthe loam when the need arises.\r\n\r\n[b]Ability Score Increase. [\/b]Your Strength score\r\nincreases by 1.\r\n\r\n[b]Deep Roots.[\/b] As long as your feet are on natural\r\nground, you have advantage on Strength saving\r\nthrows and on all ability checks you make to resist\r\nbeing pushed, shoved, knocked prone, or otherwise\r\nmoved involuntarily.\r\n\r\n[b]Wildfire Resistance.[\/b] Having withstood\r\nthe dry conditions and occasional forest fires of\r\nmidsummer, you have resistance to fire damage.\r\n\r\n[h2]Autumn\u00a0[\/h2]\r\nMandrakes harvested during autumn are more\r\ncolorful than the other varieties, both in disposition\r\nand appearance. They are decorated with leaves in a\r\nmyriad of reds, purples, and yellows. They reflect the\r\nnatural world at its most bountiful and seek to share\r\nthe harvest\u2019s gifts with all who will accept them.\r\n\r\n[b]Ability Score Increase.[\/b] Your Charisma score\r\nincreases by 1.\r\n\r\n[b]Abundance.[\/b] You gain the ability to cast the\r\ngoodberry spell, as per your Root Magic trait, when\r\nyou choose this subrace at 1st level, instead of at 3rd\r\nlevel. When you cast this spell using this trait, each\r\ncreature that consumes a berry regains hit points\r\nequal to your proficiency bonus.\r\n\r\n[b]Toxin Resistance.[\/b] The vibrant colors of\r\nautumn bring with them the promise of harvests to\r\ncome. To protect such a harvest, you have resistance\r\nto poison damage.\r\n\r\n[h2]Winter[\/h2]\r\nMandrakes which are harvested in winter first\r\nglimpse the natural world at its harshest, and become\r\nharsh in return. Winter mandrakes never grow\r\nleaves, and develop gnarled bark that makes them\r\nlook much older than they are. In addition, they\r\ngrow large; surviving the winter months fosters a\r\ncertain strength that other mandrakes rarely, if ever,\r\ndevelop.\r\n\r\n[b]Ability Score Increase.[\/b] Your Constitution\r\nscore increases by 1.\r\n\r\n[b]Frost Resistance.
